This is a sericel from Walt Disney's full-length animated feature film The Aristocats (1970). It is one of a series of selected limited-edition, screen-printed recreations of original artwork from Disney animated films. This is the Deluxe Edition of this serice. A specially created backround and frame have been added by Walt Disney Art Classics to this sericel as part of a special 250-piece deluxe edition. This edition is part of the larger regular edition and was offered only in the year 2000 The Studio has chosed to recerate Disney character images from this film using the fine-art screen-printing process of color reproduction. Disney artists, working from the original animation drawings used in the production of the The Aristocats as wall as from film reference materials, have translated the original image to a hand-inked and hand painted cel.

This cell was used by Moross Studio Originals, Inc. In the production of the sericels. The limited edition was produced in 1994. It is comprised of a general edition of 5,000 sericels and 500 publisher's proofs, for a total of 5500 sericels.

This sericel, "Duchess and her Kittens", is from Sequence 2, Scene 116 of The Aristocats : Duchess gently scolds her three kittens, Toulouse, Berlioz and Marie for making fun of their butler, Edgar, who in the same scene is lacing their food with sleeping pills so he can sabotage their promised inheritance. The actual art work and background measure 14 ix 11 inches. Framed size is 21 x18 inches in size. Brand New Plexiglass, original Disney issued matting.
