Large Walt Disney World Sign Used in Park! Backlit Acrylic Sign in Frame! RARE

Up for sale is an incredible piece of Disneyana, a large backlit sign that used to hang in the Orlando park between the years of 1994 (when Tower of Terror opened) and 1998 (a year before Animal Kingdom opened). This sign was removed from the park in 1998 before Animal Kingdom opened because this particular sign just advertised; Epcot, Magic Kingdom, and at the time MGM Studios. The sign is acrylic in a large black plastic box frame where six, 4ft bulbs would be placed to properly light it up. The sign is approximately 4.75 inches deep, 51 inches wide, and 40.25 inches tall.

This is by no means small! The back of the sign where the light bulbs are plugged in all need to be replaced as when I plugged the sign in with bulbs, it lit up for a brief second before shutting off real quick. The pictures accurately represent the condition of the piece and how cool this is! You'll never find another one and it's so very rare that pieces like this, that were used in the park, ever get into the hands of the public.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get a park used sign that will be the incredible centerpiece to one collection or even into a museum. The plastic that the buildings and all the lines are outlined in have become brittle and have cracked and in some places fallen off (visible in up close photos).

The sign has a few miscellaneous scratches as this is acrylic and a break in the upper right quadrant as shown in the 10th picture. Luckily this crack does not enter into any of the image on the sign and is just in the blue sky, if you know how to re-bond the acrylic it would look great. This acrylic sign fits perfectly into the box frame but when removed the right side of the sign is a little warped from being in the sun.

Once put into the frame it is perfectly straight. Since this sign was up and out in the view of the public for a good 4 years their is wear to this sign, have realistic expectations for this sign!
