Walt Disney Pocahontas, Pocahontas framed animated cel LE #47/183 with COA

This "Pocahontas" cel was a gift from the Walt Disney Company to its one and only owner, a former Walt Disney animator, but now needs a new caretaker, so recently it was professionally glass framed for future display purposes. The Certificate of Authenticity itself states that: This is a limited edition of 183 hand-painted character cel set-ups from Walt Disney's full-length feature film Pocahontas (1995). It is one of a series of 12 selected limited-edition, hand-painted recreations of original artwork created especially for Feature Animation employees only.

Disney artists have recreated the artwork from Pocahontas using traditional animation techniques. The original animation drawings were transferred to acetate cels by a special six-step xerographic process by the Walt Disney Studios Ink and Paint Department.

Artists of the Walt Disney Studios Ink and Paint Department then enhance the cels with hand-inked lines and then each is hand painted by them with Disney-approved acrylic colors.
